CHAGUARAMAS: Underveis is finally back on the water again, after having been treated with anti fouling, had her saildrive overhauled and beeing scrubbed and cleaned. We will soon be ready to go again.

First world ocean conquered
CHAGUARAMAS: The Underveis and her crew have crossed the Atlantic, and our first world ocean has been traversed. A big relief for us, even though the passage went relatively smooth.

CHAGUARAMAS BAY, TRINIDAD: After 28 days at sea, Underveis has arrived in Trinidad in the Caribbean. Even though we had periods with little wind, the voyage went according to plan.

Towards the New world
LAS PALMAS: As you read this, S/Y Underveis has set her sails and started her passage across the Atlantic. A world ocean is to be traversed, and a new continent explored. New cultures are to be discovered, and new ties of friendship to be tied.
Gran Canaria – getting ready to go
LAS PALMAS: Underveis is still safely berthed in Las Palmas. But after four weeks of intensive work, we are seeing the end of it. We hope to be good to go in a few days.
LAS PALMAS: Finally, we have our satellite phone back and working just fine. This means that we can receive text messages again, see www. iridium.com for more info on how to send us free sms. In addition, we will have a designated telephone time everyday between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. (GMT) everyday, so that anyone who needs to call us, can reach us. If you call outside telephone hours, we can not promise that our phone will be switched on, due to limited capacity. Our number is +881631425148. You can send us sms at anytime of the day, 7 days a week. Please note that we can not see the number of the sender, nor can we reply. So please always remember to write your name, and also your mail address if you have one. That way we can reply to you at a later point.

ESSAOUIRA: Nice people, corrupted customs officers, shitty harbours and delicious foods. Morocco is a land of contrasts, and our first encounter with Africa was one of contemplation.

SINES: Underveis has reached southern shores, at last. After having struggled our way through autumn storms, cold weather, rain and gale force winds. A fantastic feeling!
Southern Europe - at last
PARIS: Louvre, the Eiffel tower, Champs Elysees, Moulin Rouge. We celebrated New Years in Paris, also called the city of lights, in the home of Randi and Jean-Charles Burgoint. We enjoyed ourselves so much we stayed for an entire month.

PARIS: Most people think of France in terms of fantastic food and wine, football, fashion and the Eiffel tower. Finni, on his part, mainly thinks of France in terms of Cirque Noveau, which most people have never heard about, nor do they know what it is.

A tale of beauty
ST. JOSEPH: Trinidad and Tobago is blessed with an incredibly beautiful nature. Lavish, emerald green and quite overwhelming for a Norwegian. Also the people here, who originate from all the corners of the world, are beautiful.
Busy but pleasant days in Trinidad
CHAGUARAMAS: Underveis is now ready to go to sea again, following a long and pleasant stay in Trinidad. We have upgraded the boat and been very busy doing journalism.

IN TRINIDAD: Every Monday Hanna Janson arranges meeting for Scandinavian sailors in Trinidad. Swedes, Fins, Norwegians, Icelanders and Danes all gather there. A social event with book-exchange, coffe and cakes and information about relevant subjects. The gatherings are held at Roti Hut at Powerboats Marina. Hanna has been a yachtie herself and is the right person to contact if you need information or help regarding authorities, marinas or chandleries.

Christmas saved – again!
CALI: We at Underveis can look back on another great Christmas celebration. This time far, far from home. Two people from our region back in Norway came to the rescue, and we have had a great time together, eaten a lot of food and received numerous Christmas presents.

Colombia in our hearts
CARTAGHENA: Following seven days of quick sailing from Chaguaramas, we raised the skyline of Cartaghena in the horizon. This was to be the start of a month`s touring around in this magnificent South-American pearl of a country.
